The following page outlines the terms and conditions for the John Hutchings website. The use of "we", "us" or "our" is referring to John Hutchings Services Ltd T/As John Hutchings. Terms Correct as of 29/11/2022
Orders and Contract
Your order for goods is accepted and a contract is formed between John Hutchings Services Ltd T/As John Hutchings and you, when we despatch the goods you have ordered and not before. A contract is not formed at the point in time that payment has been taken from you by us, nor at the point in time that you receive an email from us as confirmation of your order.
Until the goods are despatched the order may not be accepted by us, or may be cancelled by you. For security reasons we may restrict the volumes of certain items to be sold in any one transaction or if an order is of a large value at John Hutchings Services Ltd T/As Karcher Center JHS sole discretion. Following formation of the contract, John Hutchings Services Ltd T/As Karcher Center JHS shall continue to own any goods ordered until it has received payment in full from you, even though the goods may have already been delivered to you.
Cancelling your order
Under Consumer Regulations you have the right to cancel your order or return items as long as you do so no later than 14 days after the day on which you receive the goods or service. Please be aware that your right to cancel does not apply to certain goods that we sell, for example, items made, imported specifically or customised for your order. You must inform us of your wish to return items by using the Return a delivered order page on this website within a period of 14 days beginning on the day after the day you received your items. If you wish to return items, then you must take reasonable care of the goods and not use them. You should return goods to us in their original packaging, wherever possible, within 14 days of receiving a Returns Material Authorisation (RMA) . If you return goods to us, we will not be responsible for any loss or damage to them during transit and we recommend that you use a recorded or secure delivery method. If goods are lost or damaged in transit, we may charge you, or not refund to you, amounts that are attributable to the loss or damage. See the RETURNS section for details of how to return goods to us.
We cannot accept items not originally purchased from us as returns, nor are we able to send them back to you, so please look closely at the items you return to us. If you return or attempt to return items not originally purchased from us, you will still be responsible for paying for the original item you purchased from us and we reserve the right to charge an investigation fee of no less than £35 to cover the cost of our investigating the position. We can offset this amount due from other sums that may be due to you for refunds. Accepting returned goods and providing a refund does not constitute a waiver of our right to charge an investigation fee. Additional terms and conditions apply to cancelling orders for certain goods such as made to order items, custom orders or items modified at your request. Please refer to the terms relating to the supply of those goods. The cost of the original delivery will not be refunded if you return your order.
Click & Collect
When the product is ready for collection in the store, we will contact you by email. Please do not make the journey to store until you have received confirmation from us that the product is ready. Please bring one form of personal identification e.g. driving license or utility bill in addition to your order confirmation. Please note:
- If you place your order between our opening time and up to 1 hour before our closing time, it will be ready for you to collect within 1 hour on the same day. Details of our opening hours can be found in our Help Hub - Store Information
- If you place your order later than 1 hour before the closing time and before the next day’s opening time of our store, it will be ready for you to collect within 1 hour of the store opening.
- You will need to bring confirmation of your order with you when you come to collect the product and one form of personal identification e.g. a driving license, passport or utility bill in your name.
- Your order may not be accepted if we are unable to obtain authorisation for payment or you appear to be ineligible to order the item in question, or we have identified a pricing or description error for the product or due to circumstances beyond our control.
- You may be contacted as part of our prevention of fraud process, your order will be cancelled if you do not make contact us by the time stated.
Our delivery service applies to most orders placed before 12pm. All courier delivery services are subject to stock, courier area and availability and demand. When your selected delivery service is not available, we will deliver by an alternative carrier, however this may take longer. Weekend delivery for the DHL Express service is not available. Royal Mail Tracked 48 and Untracked 48 services may be delivered on a Saturday. Royal Mail Tracked 24 may be delivered on a Saturday and Sunday. Delivery times are typical indications only and cannot be guaranteed.

Returning items to our store
You may return most items in person at our store, even if you ordered online, as long as they are in a new and in an unused condition and wherever possible in the original packaging. If you want to return items to our store you can do so within 14 days (beginning on the day after the day you receive the goods). If you are returning an item ordered online via our store, please bring your delivery note with you. For information regarding our stores address please visit the Home Hub - Store information . Certain items cannot be returned, these are detailed in the EXCEPTIONS TO THE RETURNS POLICY section.
Returning items using a courier
You may return most items you ordered online, as long as they are in a new and in an unused condition and wherever possible in the original packaging. If you want to return items, you can do so within 14 days (beginning on the day after the day you receive the goods). You will need to complete a return request before attempting to return your items this can be started on our Return a delivered order page. If you choose to have us arrange a return using Royal Mail, a DHL Parcel Shop or a DHL Courier, the cost of this will be deducted from your final refund.
Exceptions to the return policy
The following exceptions apply to our returns policy. We may not be able to accept the return of items that have been ordered esepcially for you, have been altered or customised in anyway or have had additional accessories fitted by our engineers at your request. We may at our sole discretion accept such items for return, however we reserve the right to charge a 15% restocking fee if such a return is accepted. This does not affect your right to return faulty items.
High return rates policy
We may suspend or refuse orders for additional orders if we determine that the rate at which you return items ('returns rate'), when compared to the number of items you have ordered and retained, is too high. If we suspend or refuse orders, we will notify you and try to find a way to improve your returns rate. We really want you to be able to continue purchasing from us.
We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Your statutory rights are not affected.
By submitting any review content to us, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the sole author and have not copied the content from any third party
- All content that you post is accurate
You further agree and warrant that you shall not submit any content:
- That is known by you to be false, inaccurate or misleading
- That infringes any third party's copyright, trademark, or privacy
- That is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, racially or religiously biased or offensive, contains obscene language, or is threatening or harassing to any individual, partnership or corporation
- That includes any information that references other websites, addresses, email addresses, contact information or phone numbers
- That contains any computer viruses, worms or other potentially damaging computer programs or files.
- For any content that you submit, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable right and license to use, copy, modify, delete in its entirety, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from and/or distribute such content and/or incorporate such content into any form, medium or technology throughout the world without compensation to you.
Ratings and written comments are generally posted within two to four business days. However, we reserve the right to remove or to refuse to post any submission for any reason. You acknowledge that you, not us, are responsible for the contents of your submission.
None of the content that you submit shall be subject to any obligation of confidence on the part of us, our agents, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners or third party service providers and their respective directors, officers and employees.
By submitting your email address in connection with your rating and review, you agree that we may use your email address to contact you about the status of your review and for other administrative purposes.
The prices shown are inclusive of any value added tax or sales tax. Due to circumstances beyond our control, prices may have to be altered up or down, including any alterations to the rate of value added tax or sales tax. The current price will be shown when you place your order. All prices shown are cash prices in sterling. Prices of goods displayed in and ordered through Karcher Center JHS may differ from prices in-store.
Products sold that are marked or filtered as domestic home use are suitable for domestic home use only. Please contact us for further information if you intend using such products in a business or public environment. Products that are marked or filtered as Professional, Commercial or Industrial are suitable for both domestic home use and business or commercial use.
All orders for products are subject to availability.
We take great care in ensuring that photographs, specifications and descriptions are as accurate as possible, however photographs are an example of the product and may not be a current representation due to changes of specification and are used for illustrative purposes only. Any errors or omissions are excepted.
